After 9-11 one would think that the sky's would be safer especially after all they put you through just to get on a plane. A week or is it two now? Anyway a Northwest airliner passed it's destination by 150 miles. 150 miles? How the hell does that happen? I mean really! I'm just glad I wasn't on that flight. Now they've looked at the voice recorders and the cockpit video.

Saw this article from Yahoo, about the worlds cheapest brand new car, made in India. However,we may not see it hear in the U.S. because of some safety issues. Two being it has not airbags, or safety belts for the back seat.
I'm sure the import taxes would be astronomical too, but it's $2,500 and get upwards around 56 mpg. And some pics for you.

For me, I'd pay $2,500 and drive it over here. And 56 mpg, how could you go wrong. Okay, it may not be the safest, so I'll opt for the airbags ( if they're available ). I don't usually take on passengers for a backseat so that wouldn't be an issue. The sad part, if they do address these safety issues, with the import taxes, and what ever other taxes they can come up with, it will probably cost around $15,000.

Just for fun - the trivia :
The ingredients of what food product was the subject of the world's first consumer law?
The oil companies shot prices up so we were paying $3, $4, and in some place $5.00 for a gallon of gas. So we reacted by not driving so much. Car pooling, walking, biking, and getting more gas friendly vehicles. And it seemed to work as prices are back to a reasonable price. Now the government is wanting to jump in on the game by raising the taxes on a gallon of gas.

I understand the premise of their POV, but doesn't our car tags and license plates pay for that too? And in some states, the population has to pay to drive on their roads already. So they want these people to pay twice? Further, are they actually going to get quicker or longer lasting roads built? And if we start driving more, are they going to lower the tax? And I wonder if these people actually pay for their gas? This year just doesn't seem to be getting off to a good start.

For some reason I seem to be having trouble finding things on the internet. Did I forget to call it on it's birthday or something?
Layouts - having issues, but I've found a lot of them now. So good.
icons - grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I have been trying to find an icon of Ron / Lee kissing. ( it of course doesn't have to be the actors proper ) I tried googleing , yahooing, nothing. It gives me a man kissing a woman, and with Ron as temperamental as he is, I don't think he'd appreciate it.
This icon is okay, but it looks more like Remus / Sirius. Does anyone have one they wouldn't mind me snagging?

I I've been looking to change my insane layout for a time now. I have the background picture I want to use, and I picked this layout ( even though I can't find who made it now ) and the picture only goes to a third of the background. Does anyone know, because I've looked and not found, of a sight I can get a new layout for this site? It's okay like it is now, except I want pictures in the background.

Due to a forced lay off, after returning from a conference in upper Michigan, I have six days off. On wednesday I went out to the winery to help them make pasta, helped one other time and it was a lot of fun.
I got there a little late, I'm always late, to find their mixer is broken. Ken, the owner, went to Kellie's ( wife ) parents business to use their mixer - to at least get doe made. I helped make the wet ingredients. Chipotle ravioli/fettuccine, spinach ravioli/fettuccine, sundried tomato ravioli/fettuccine, Riesling ravioli/fettuccine, and two others I can't think of off hand. I ended up being there for like six hours and left only to be home when wolfie got off work.
The next day they had a bus tour they asked if I'd be able to help out with, as I was laid off. I said sure. 51 people got off the bus, and I was trying to help, I was able to pour the wine samples, give people coffee, water lemon aide. When they started to get the food ready for plating, she asked if I could open a bottle of wine - "sure" I said. then I broke their fancy steel wine opener...Fuck. Ken asks what's wrong - he's the uptight one in a cruntch. He finds me a hand opener and I nearly drop the bottle while sending the corkscrew with cork flying. After that I did okay, but still I broke their fancy steel wine opener.
Friday, they had another bus tour and I said I'd help out. This day went easier, as I knew somewhat what to do. The girl they had helping with me on Thurday wasn't there and they had another bloke helping. So I got to help more with the food. And you know, when we're eating there, there is a sort of romance to the place. When I walk behind the counter and see how it's all done - the romance is gone. Still it was a fun experience and I was out of there a lot sooner, to get wolfie some flowers and be home when he got off work.
I then made a sausage, eggplant, fresh sliced tomato lasagna with a Moroccan flare. I think I'm over doing it with pasta, as they also gave me some of what we made to take home. But I do love it. It would be nice to have your own small restaurant like that.
Now it's back to the oily machinery, and angry people. Not that I can blame them. And it will be eleven days before we get any money.

I hate YIM. I've been trying for like an age to get it to work. I've tried deleting it and re-installing it but to no avail. I've contacted their support or help people did what they said and it still doesn't work.
The problem? I can see what I type. As soon as I hit SEND, I can't see what I've written in the box above my typing box, nor can I see what my YIM partner is typing.
I have done all of what they said to try, and am now waiting or hear back from them. I was supposed to email them a response to their email, but guess what? I clicked the reply button, and I don't get a window to reply in. There is just a blue box that says -> ATTACH FILE.
I hit send and it does nothing. *sigh* Perhaps it's just yahoo that hates me, who knows, but I am fully annoyed now.
Not sure if this makes me feel better or not, but I've vented. But no, because now my LJ is acting up too. It must be a Sunday thing. But yeah, IJ is working:D

A coworker showed me this article in the paper. Not that I would endorse this in ANY way, but...

I went to my first Union Meeting at the local as a Charimen. It was kinda strange but interesting. The started off saying the pledge of allegiance. It just seemed rather a strange thing to do, it was something we did in elementary school. Anyway, the read the financial report and asked for a vote to accept what was read. Someone seconded and those for said Yeah, those opposed ( although none did ) say neah. I had not a clue what all those numbers meant.
Then they talked briefly about some companies closeing, and had each Chairmen speaking on what was happening in their unit. I was the last one to report, as they went in alphabetical order, and they had me stand to do so. Mind you no one else had to stand, but as I was the newest Chairmen...grumble.
In two weeks we're having an election for our local's president. That was another meeting a few nights after the one above, and I find out I get the day off of work to do the election in my plant:) There were even some who didn't want to take the day off to do the election part, they'd just do it on their lunch or after work. I'm like, Dude shut it and take the day off.'

Today was my first day back at work from my four day visit to South Carolina. My younger sister got married on Saturday, she looked beautiful. When wolfie and I returned from Florida and the Eyecon, we were rather...depressed. Returning from South Carolina? Glad to be home. Not that I don't love my family, but to be that close to some of them for more than a few days can be trying.

And first day back at work, though a Tuesday, felt like a Monday - egads. But the weather was in the low 70's, and I didn't need a jacket:) The flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, and I guess it wasn't a bad day after all.
Oh, and I've got a great start on my Quidditch Pitch fic, for my anonymous bidder, I just have to get it onto George. Good thing they didn't want a ficlet, I passed that in the first part, and didn't even mention 'Lee'. Hope you're all well - Hugs.
