After 9-11 one would think that the sky's would be safer especially after all they put you through just to get on a plane. A week or is it two now? Anyway a Northwest airliner passed it's destination by 150 miles. 150 miles? How the hell does that happen? I mean really! I'm just glad I wasn't on that flight. Now they've looked at the voice recorders and the cockpit video.

I was perusing [info]hp_art_daily a few weeks back and saw some artists were taking commissions. AsI am writing a fic, and thought I'd try. Well Alex was delivered today :D



[info]froggie is totally awesome! I just love the pic of Alex. First off I love water colour. Back in the day ( and I hate that expression - but am too buzzed to care ) that was my choice of medium. Our art teacher would give a test - and say you can do the picture in what ever medium you wanted. Most chose pencil. I choose water colour. Which was dum as it took me three times as long to complete. And I was nowhere near as good as [info]froggie

Anyway! This is just Awesome! Thank you , Thank you , Thank you!

Tato Nano - the cheapest car ever. $2,500 [Feb. 28th, 2009|10:37 am]

Saw this article from Yahoo, about the worlds cheapest brand new car, made in India. However,we may not see it hear in the U.S. because of some safety issues. Two being it has not airbags, or safety belts for the back seat.

I'm sure the import taxes would be astronomical too, but it's $2,500 and get upwards around 56 mpg. And some pics for you.

For me, I'd pay $2,500 and drive it over here. And 56 mpg, how could you go wrong. Okay, it may not be the safest, so I'll opt for the airbags ( if they're available ). I don't usually take on passengers for a backseat so that wouldn't be an issue. The sad part, if they do address these safety issues, with the import taxes, and what ever other taxes they can come up with, it will probably cost around $15,000.

It's finally out, and on Friday the 13th proper. Took a day of vacation, which in the long run seems to have been a good plan as our plant has no power. So Wolfie and I traveled to meet up with my best friend since high school, who also took the day off. Had a nice dinner at Max and Erma's then to the movie.

Just a quick note. I was downloading Democracy Now this morning and one of their headlines read:


In France, more than a million workers took to the streets nationwide in a general strike against the French government’s response to the global financial crisis. The strike was the largest in western Europe to date since the crisis unfolded last September. Critics say French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s $33 billion recovery program has favored banks over workers.


Now that is a MILLION WORKERS on strike. Don't suppose that could ever happen here in the U.S. Especially when you look at the billions they gave the banking system to give themselves bonus' and raises and to lobby against workers rights to organize. Thanks Uncle Sam.

Just thought I'd say. And here are a couple of French men who may be striking.

Just for fun - the trivia :

The ingredients of what food product was the subject of the world's first consumer law?



The oil companies shot prices up so we were paying $3, $4, and in some place $5.00 for a gallon of gas. So we reacted by not driving so much. Car pooling, walking, biking, and getting more gas friendly vehicles. And it seemed to work as prices are back to a reasonable price. Now the government is wanting to jump in on the game by raising the taxes on a gallon of gas.

I understand the premise of their POV, but doesn't our car tags and license plates pay for that too? And in some states, the population has to pay to drive on their roads already. So they want these people to pay twice? Further, are they actually going to get quicker or longer lasting roads built? And if we start driving more, are they going to lower the tax? And I wonder if these people actually pay for their gas? This year just doesn't seem to be getting off to a good start.

Must get more coffee...

Hope everyone's New Years celebration went well. [info]evilauntiesnape was in from her state and was over to ring in the new year. [info]apothecarist, also came by as did another area friend. We played a drinking game with Star Trek the Next Generation and watch Supernatural and Milk. All in all a nice evening.

Unfortunately [info]evilauntiesnape had to leave around noon and she should be on her way home :( Miss her already.
